OLD TOM MORRIS British Open Champion 1861, 1862, 1864, 1867 • In the early days of golf, it was very common for the golf instructor to also be a club maker. Helping the student with the selection of their clubs was thought to be an essential part of golf instruction. Acquiring the newest design at the cheapest price has become the primary objective. Things have certainly progressed in the wrong direction.
